In June 1991, began formal negotiations for enlargement of the free trade area, Mexico. A North American Free Trade Agreements is part of the Bush administration for companies in America initiative. The objective is to define new rules of economic governance in the hemisphere, and consolidates the sphere of American dominance. When John Negroponte, U.S. ambassador to Mexico, wrote in a confidential April 1991, U.S. State Department: “The FTA can be considered as an instrument to promote, consolidate and continue to guarantee the policy of economic reforms in Mexico on ‘hotel Salinas.

Constitution

Jobs

The destruction of jobs remains the most visible expression of free trade driven transformation of the economy.

In the five years preceding the AFC for the implementation of the economy has created an average of 325000 new jobs per year. If this trend continues, the economy should have created nearly one million new jobs in three years of free trade.

Instead, in the first two-and-a-year, there was a net destruction of 90000 jobs. About half a million people were unemployed roles, which pushes the official rate of 7.8 per cent to 10.5 per cent. Manufacturing

More than 150000 of these jobs disappeared before the epidemic so-called recession.
